IT'S ELECTION TIME! So I have a manifesto of my own. 16 year olds now get the vote and they can sign on if they are in care, or attend school or job training. The "dole" is now £170 per week. The minimum wage for 16-25 year olds is £12 an hour, above 25 it is £17 an hour. Non-violent offenders can plant trees instead of going to prison. Full-time students are entitled to Housing Benefit and can "sign on" over the summer period. Fees for all universities and private schools are to be capped at £8000 a year. Trident will not be renewed. There is to be a referendum on building new nuclear power stations. Restrictions on on-shore wind farms will now be ended and new schools and hospitals will have solar panels on their roofs. The Army and MI6 will be abolished.
