What is the "Jewish character of Israel"? Democracy? Liberalism? Secularism? And I suppose the black character of Zimbabwe is having rythm! But, by this logic, a "United Kingdom" would dilute the English character of England, Welsh/Wales, Scotland/Scots etc. Why are Jews singled out? Is this because they are afraid of being bred out of existence (in a unified Palestine): which then relates to racist whites (especially Americans) fears of misegenation.
