Using Pokemon as a very simple example it can be shown just how scared of change conservatives are. Chansey is the nurse in the Pokemon center. She heals sick/injured Pokemon in a kind of hospital for Pokemon. But wait! Wigglytuff is the Pokemon nurse who assists Joy. How can this be? It's like they are trying to get rid of Chancey! It's GENOCIDE (is what a conservative would say)! Because Wigglytuff are used in the Alola Region as opposed to other regions in the games and anime where Chansey appear to be used. It's not genocide, they just use a different Pokémon.

I've got Steve Rose's "take" in today's Guardian in front of me. I feel I really have to point out that plenty of adults like toys, role playing games and anime. Pokemon basically revived Nintendo and handheld gaming, is an incredibly popular RPG and the films and anime based on it have consistent levels of quality and, importantly, actually fit in with the gaming franchise. # DetectivePikachu may end up being terrible. It is itself based on the game of the same title but to compare it to the risible 90's Super Mario and the live-action Transformer's franchise is beyond unfair. They exist in seperate dimenstions. Rose's article shows the ignorance about "geek" culture among some people.

Pokémon The humans in the Pokémon World may have arrived when the colonial fleet in Battlestar Galactica reached "Earth". They may have also "crossed over" from, or live in, a version of the Watchmen/DC universe. Both versions are possible. The reality of Pokémon is that the humans live in a Lovecraftian universe in which most adults are afraid to leave their homes for fear of going being possessed by ghosts or having their dreams eaten by psychic Pokémon. Children, especially pre-adolescents, seem mostly immune to ghost-induced insanity and are encouraged to catch and train various 'mon to protect their adult selves. Basically, it is more like the  tabletop game Pokethulhu  than the familiar anime. Team Rocket have access to the original Cylon  Resurrection Ship . This way they can keep "blasting off" (dying) and then return in the same episode. Similarly, the Nurse Joys and Officer Jennies are clones/versions of Deana Biers and Kara Thrace. ...
